Joshua is 4 ½ months now and is just the best baby! He started out as 25th percentile for weight & 50th for length and he’s now 75th for weight & >90th for length and weighs 13.4 lbs! He smiles and “talks” every day, which is just the greatest. The dev specialist says that so far he’s developing at the same rate as a typical baby. The best news though is that the hole in his heart has closed! He still has a murmur, but the cardiologist doesn’t need to see him again until he’s two. He started eating rice cereal last week and quickly got the hang of eating from a spoon (the pic was from day two, so he was still learning =) He is quickly developing a very rotund belly!
Baby J is seeing an ENT next week because he doesn’t turn towards noises. We know he can hear because he startles at loud noises. We also know it’s not a developmental issue because he always turns something he sees. The speculation is he may have fluid in his ear canal affecting the tones he hears, which would effect is speech. We’ll find out more next week though.
